First of all, thank you for sharing your personal journey into Watch Collection.
There is a lot of food for thought, for everyone here.
Your post made me think about my personal journey, and I prefer keeping the silence, here, as it is frightening.
Basically, in 15 years, I must have bought 200 watches +++, and sold more than half of them, to fund heavy watches.
In paralell, I bought, like you, some very affordable ones, which, for some of them, are as important as some very expensive ones.
Watches I regret having sold: Several, not too many, but I can mention the Breguet 1775, the Panerai Pre V Marina Militare non matching, a JL Reverso platinum Nr 2 ( I'm a stupid idiot to have sold it ).
With time passing, I sell less and less watches, I have mainly built my collection in the last 7 years, and I reached a point whenre I am struggling with one question:
Should I sell a lot to fund the 2 or 3 Grails I'm running after, or should I stay as I am, and keep on building my collection, " petit à petit ", quietly?
That is an interesting dilemma...
Best,
Nicolas.
