Ceramic content... :-)

Aug 04, 2010,22:19 PM

Hi all,

after a long 2 years without a Panerai, I am finally back! When I woke up this morning I knew that day that I have been waiting for for too long was today. In 2008 I was lucky enough to attend a Panerai event where I strapped on the 317 and I knew immediately that this would have to be the watch that gets me back to Panerai - e voila - here it is.

The first set of pictures is the most exciting moment of new watch ownership - unboxing

Next the first wrist shots of the new beauty

This evening I was in the mood for trying to take some nicer pictures - the 317 is a really hard watch to take pictures of...

After the stunning front I had to see if I could capture the PVD'd movement, so here it is...

And here a shot that I have missed taking for a long time - the lume...nothing beats a Panerai smile

And last but not least, the 317 with his ceramic or at least ceramic content brothers...can you say "I like ceramics" smile)

Hope you enjoyed my post? The best thing is that I have another Panerai coming...stay tuned smile

cheers and good to be back!
Rupert

you sure picked your piece right to come back to Panerai. There seems to be a few of us around here w/ the K serie 317 so perhaps we can form a little user group/registry? Club of DLC movement! How'bout some more shots of that M machine in the background?...

thanks Jester - awesome 317 you have there ;-)

I like the idea of a DLC movement club here are 2 more shot of that "M machine" - the theme being Carbon and great technology cheers Rupert...

Oh you are such a tease

Rupert! If I have to venture a guess I would say it's the E92 M3? More shots please if I'm right! Even more shots if I'm wrong!

Happy to oblige Jester :-)

you are correct - E92 M3 - best car I ever owned! I have had it for over 2 years now and it has been my daily driver and my track toy (with some slight mods when I go to the track) here at Laguna Seca - the right environment for the car and 2 more from Se...

Good to see an M3 being used how it should be: on the track

A shame we are not on the same continent, we could meet on the Nürburgring track. Like the gray combo with the titanium colored wheels. Fits well with the 317 Best regards. Luc

Congrats and welcome back

We sure share the same taste... I picked my 317 last Thursday (a day later than you) and I have been asking around for a Bumble Bee for some time now. The Top Gun Split Second and the Big Bang have both enjoyed the company of my wrist, but I let them go s...

Thanks Sanro and congrats to you too!

It seems that the 317 falls into a similar category from a material and technology perspective and assume that people that like a 317 would also like a BumbleBee as well as potentially an IWC Top Gun or Hublot. I too have seen Craig's post with the ABP st...

How could i forget the 317? Thanks for reminding me that I once wanted it.....
