Sincere Watch Ltd launched the official site of the Sincere Watch Academy on 23 August 2007 with an 'Orientation Day' for specialist, fashion and general mass media in Singapore.
Located on the 23rd floor of Suntec Tower 3, the 1,500 square foot Academy comprises three sections:
a resource library with multi-media area,
a technical centre,
a watchmaking workshop

Sincere Staff
Sincere Watch Group sees this as a long-term commitment towards nurturing active watch appreciation culture and world-class service standards in Singapore and the region. As a pledge of commitment to the Academy, Sincere Group has allocated a team of 12 persons into the project. The initial set-up has cost more than S$1 million and the annual running cost is estimated close to S$2 million (US $1 approximates S$1.5).

Even More Sincere Staff
"The Sincere Watch Academy is set up not only to benefit the watch enthusiasts and educate the public on the art of horology by making these information accessible to all but we're set on bigger vision to actually uplift the entire watch industry in general," said Mr Tay Liam Wee, Group Managing Director for Sincere Watch Ltd.

Resource Library:
Stocked with watch catalogues, magazines and hard-to-get literature, some "liberated" from watch libraries in Switzerland, the idea here is to provide a cozy lounge area for watch enthusiasts to research material and also access multi-media brand DVDs or wireless Internet access. PuristS can access both PuristSPro.com and ThePuristS.com , maybe even at the same time! Truly mighty is the technology today

Assemble the parts into a working pendulum clock with en passant 15 minute chime
We started in teams of three "watchmakers" but eventually, human dynamics and stress broke us up into pairs and "independent" watchmakers......hmmm....so that's how the AHCI started

Do we need more parts or more people?

My watch lab partner, Irene Ang of TimeWerke magazine and our completed clock (2nd place)
We were in the lead to completion were it not for Irene being hampered by:
A) My poor colour discrimination
B) My chubby fingers
C) Our escapement assembly being mis-aligned by MICRONS (honest, guv)
PS. Strangely, our clock chimed en passant at 5, 20, 35 and 50 minutes past the hour
We're patenting it as a world's first..............
Practical Workshops:
One can imagine the trouble and fun that the WIS can get up to during one of the "experiential" activities planned with visiting "professors" from A. Lange & Sohne, IWC, Chopard L.U.C. and Patek Philippe. The curriculum will be set by Patrick 'Headmaster' Tan, whose official title is really 'Head of Sincere Watch Academy'.
