Moving up the stairs...wondering how does the pen looks like??

Crossing the huge ballroom...

Alas, the venue - River Room...oh... mysterious.

Not for long, in less than 5 minutes, the guests were streaming in.

Some of the beautiful pieces showcased at the foyer ...

Hmm... curious ...how does the pen looks like?

This 'tunnel'...like entering into a mother-ship..

Met Mr Silvio Laurenti, CEO of Caran d'Ache. He was being interviewed by the media.

A teaser ( a big one) ... still no pens to be seen.

Suddenly a soothing tune filled the air...

Caran d'Ache de Haute Ecriture established in Geneva for more than 80 years. Founded by Arnold Schweitzer in 1924.

With its priceless wealth of technical expertise, the company has carefully protected the art of handwriting. In the great tradition of Swiss
manufacturing, it designs and produces exceptional products, all of which carry the famous “Swiss made” quality
label. Recognised around the world for their excellence, these writing instruments, as well as Caran d’Ache fine
arts and drawing materials, are a daring combination of expertise and aesthetics. The company currently employs
some 300 people.

Mr Olivier Walthert, MD of Dianomiq Pte Ltd (Malaysia/Singapore distributors for Caran d'Ache) & Mr Silvio Laurenti, CEO of Caran d'Ache  on the stage.

Mr. Olivier Walthert - Managing Director of Dianomiq, introduced the 1010 Ltd Edition

The Unveiling of the 1010 Ltd Edition in 3 glass showcases.

Showcase #1 : The Silver plated and coated with rhodium piece.

The Silver plated and coated with rhodium piece is limited to 500 pcs. Each pen is individually numbered:1-500.

The ring (reflecting) supposedly to be silver-rhodium colour. Under the halogen lighting, it looked like gold.

At the tip of the body was a sapphire dome containing a balance wheel, perfectly poised between 2 rubies.

Showcase #2 : The Gold Edition.
The ultimate 10 pieces. Each pen is individually numbered: 1-10.

A Top Wesselton WS diamond of 0.11 carats cut with 57 facets embellishes the
clip of the gold pens.

The body of the pen, which recalls the delicate gears of the finest timepieces, is made in noble metals: 18 carat gold or rhodium-coated silver. Two
cages, one decorated with gear wheels and the other with the bridges that link them, are fitted over a transparent body that reveals the flowing ink.

Also in the box is a superb ink bottle in raw glass, decorated with gear wheels and inspired by the winding crowns of various timepieces. Matching the material of the pen, its stopper is plated in gold or palladium-coated silver plate. The bottle is engraved with the Caran d’Ache monogram and contains our fascinatingly deep blue-black ink, one of the shades in the Colours of the Earth Ink Collection, created by Caran d’Ache and chosen to accompany this sumptuous Limited Edition.

Showcase #3 : Another Silver plated and coated with rhodium piece.

The cap is inspired by wristwatch crowns. It is made in rhodium-coated silver or 18-carat gold, polished by hand, with a clip that suggests a watch hand, attached to a pinion.

The piston pump is set with a ruby as in a winding crown.

To symbolize this bond, Caran d’Ache has created 1010, a Limited Edition dedicated to watchmaking.
It is a fine writing instrument conceived as a tribute to the most beautifully intricate complications.

Turners and engravers have used all their skills to produce the 500 silver-plated, rhodium-coated pieces, and the 10 gold pieces that make up this exceptional Limited Edition.
Every detail has been given meticulous attention; both the visible elements and the interior parts have required outstanding expertise from Caran d’Ache craftsmen.
