Do watches have a "Soul"?.........
Oct 23, 2014,00:28 AM
....or any other "machinery" for that matter.
Given, it may sound like a very puerile or perhaps even incongruous question on this forum, however, I, for one, do believe that watches like other "objects", cars come to mind, have a "Soul", they do live.
Here is my little "bizarre" story. I have a watch, I will not mention the brand but it is from a highly sought after manufacturer. When worn, the watch keeps perfect time, even when placed on a "timing apparatus" it shows a discrepancy of only 2-3 seconds every 24 hours. When the watch is place in its box and in a safe, it does lose 15 minutes! This, in itself, although not very good is not necessary freakish or spooky. What is spooky though, is that it does not matter how long the watch is in the box or not on my wrist, it always loses only or all of 15 minutes, always.
So, let me recap. The watch is in a box for 8 hours and it loses 15 minutes, the same watch is in a box for 24 hours and it also loses 15 minutes, no more, always 15 minutes when not worn! Is this bizarre or is this bizarre?
Being only a half baked Purist, I am sure that a full blown and crusty Purist could help shed some light on this strange phenomenon
Thank you in advance.
Cheers
