Solace, idealism and sacrifice....on this dial.

No I don't work for any company but my own. First...apologies for my long answer. Just that I have a rare few minutes on me.

I was trying to share what I found in the most basic of the Greubels.

These watches are unfortunately so expensive. They will be so rare.

We, including me, will hardly see any.

I went out on a limb to acquire the watches...and I found peace after my first....now, I am smitten by the same feeling I had when I saw Lange 1.

Because I admire the people who dared challenge the limits...and risk all.

It is probably no easy task to sell a GF. At least Lange is affordable...even RM.

It is simply too high, and excludes almost 99% or more of the collectors.

I would dread that they end up hidden in the coffers of the wealthy, but non collectors, who bought them to keep as heirlooms...worthy...but we will never see them ever again.

I will try to share, and it will be difficult because I have not enough time.

It is going to be uphill.

People who normally can afford these things rarely share...as they are busy. They may want to, but I doubt they surf the net...and post.

I am actually concerned that many people will not get a chance to see what the big fuss of GF is.

But I agree....I will be stepping into "advertising" territory.

At least, these are genuinely owners pieces. And not cleaned up advertising shots.

I really find peace, because I work in general practice, and it is very depressing.

There is too much compromise in medicine.

However, GF is where I found peace. Fortunately...many brands also have similar greatness....and I try to share about them.

They are still expensive...but possible to buy used. Especially in today's climate.

This one black LV box is complete. The next one will include an LV Worldtime. Sounds nuts...but that is a colorful beauty.

And a UN Moonstruck. If I have the stamina and am not distracted. I also found that the Beuben & Zorweg One Perpetual is incredibly beautiful. Probably another piece we will rarely see.

A Greubel Forsey, even the lowest model will be GOOD.

This one, the 8th platinum case that was cast many years back, before I met either of them, is the second most basic. Because it is a unique piece made of platinum instead of WG....see the dial. The ONLY watch that I can find a similar place in the soul, ...

I havent had the pleasure of seeing a GF in person yet. I had the pleasure of drooling at a couple in the Sincere window at Ngee Ann when they were having their 100 tourbillon display I really adore Max Bussers watches and his bigger table pieces. The Mus...

Of course these are "almost" on opposite sides of the spectrum. BUT...they , the Greubel Forseys and the Seiko Galantes are VERY courageous creations. One is soooo costly/expensive to pursue the extreme of doing a classic execution well, to the extreme of...

Out of my price range I am uncertain it is the best use of my horological funds. I thought about the music box but the Star Trek music is not from Alexander Courage.

I have no answers to buying watches. BUT. The clock will be a part of my life. It already has a space being made for it on my clinic deask. And I hope that it will bring the names of MB&F and Lepee forward. When I look at the movement Minerva made, an...

Not sure what I am looking for on the G&F dial? Are you working for them as every post seems like an advert. Congrats on the clock, I am looking forward to seeing one in person but it also might mean I need one too!! Cheers Andrew

Sorry my misunderstanding, I thought there was something special on the dial, when you mentioned it was Plat instead of WG and to check out the dial! I looked and looked but could not see anything different. I know from your older posts that you work for ...
