Do watches have a "Soul"?.........

 By: Sandgroper : October 23rd, 2014-00:28
....or any other "machinery" for that matter. Given, it may sound like a very puerile or perhaps even incongruous question on this forum, however, I, for one, do believe that watches like other "objects", cars come to mind, have a "Soul", they do live. He...

Maybe its missing you when not on your wrist...

 By: andrewluff : October 23rd, 2014-02:14
I am not sure about a soul, but my watches all contain memories... memories of occasions, events, fun times and some no so. The watch makes me remember these every time they are selected from the box and gives me (hopefully) that extra smile on my face wh...

Yes it does......

 By: Sandgroper : October 23rd, 2014-16:56
have memory, it seems to remember when to sleep, that's for sure. It is also very disciplined, 15 minutes and only during the night:) Thank you for your comments. Cheers Francois

Getting nearer to Halloween ?.. Bit spooky it sounds..guess, our time-pieces .. ;))

.. are mirrors or projection fields of OUR " souls, with good and bad luck, with emotions & memories, with stories heard or re-lived... And some others probably.. Why that is the case, I don't know, but I consider it typically human to create or handle th...

Thank you HS, in this case.......

 By: Sandgroper : October 23rd, 2014-17:03
the mirror needs a clean up:) the fog on it is confusing the watch's perception of Time:) Cheers Francois

Damn, your camomille is very strong! Please bring some with you when you come. ;)

 By: amanico : October 23rd, 2014-12:07
More srriously, I would bring it and check if it is not magnetized.... Best, Nicolas

LOL! Camomille? what camomille......

 By: Sandgroper : October 23rd, 2014-17:24
I had it demagnetised, although it didn't need it as when on the "timing apparatus" it was behaving extremely well. The strange bit is that during the day and as long as I am awake the watch performs and behaves perfectly well, I don't necessarily need to...

It's a dreamer watch!....

 By: Sandgroper : October 23rd, 2014-23:44
...no need for a tourbillon:) Cheers Francois

At least one think is set in stones......

 By: Sandgroper : October 24th, 2014-01:00
This "dreamer" watch will NEVER be sold, it will be passed on to some "dreamer" who will look after it until the time comes to find another "dreamer" to pass it on to and.............ad vitam aeternam! The osmosis cannot be disturbed, the dream MUST conti...

Yes, but you should show it to a watchmaker. Check the amplitude.

 By: amanico : October 27th, 2014-09:20
And some other factors. There must be a logical explanation to this mystical phenomenon. Strange, my friend, strange.... Best, Nicolas

Spooky:)

 By: Sandgroper : October 27th, 2014-18:10
Agree with you, there must be a logical explanation.........I am getting old and "gaga"! Cheers Francois

There must be something with the rotor...

If in action, it works, when you give it some rest, it has issues... Maybe the self winding system is not working properly? Best, Nicolas

This is classic case of...

inner malice of inanimate objects :) Like when cars got broken when you are in middle of nowhere or washing machine leaked when it's full of dirty laundry and another pile of dirty laundry is in room...or just pure Murphy law that bread & butter alway...

Ahaha Damjan......

 By: Sandgroper : October 23rd, 2014-17:53
My watch hasn't got a drop of inner malice, maybe it is a little mischievous but certainly not malicious:) My theory goes like that: as the watch only loses exactly 15 minutes while I am asleep and as I believe that during my "laying down" I sleep for mor...

No !!!

.

Yes!!!!!

 By: Sandgroper : October 24th, 2014-17:24
I know it sounds weird but that's the way it is. It is so unbelievable that I have developed another theory which makes more sense: I am, after all a sleepwalker. I fall asleep then wake up during the night, pick up the watch and I set it 15 minutes behin...

Another theory. Neat thread

 By: kevster : October 27th, 2014-09:16
Perhaps it is on you, the owner to decide, crown up, crown down at night. I propose you keep this watch out of the safe for a month, and self regulate it at night. Maybe the missing part is you wear it while you sleep, speaking of dreams... However 15 min...

The mystery perdures......

 By: Sandgroper : October 27th, 2014-18:04
Thank you Kev for your suggestions. I have in fact already put in practice some of your ideas. For example last Saturday I wore it during my "siesta" which lasted about 3 hours in the afternoon and guess what? Yes Sir, it did lose about 8 minutes. I have ...

....I have a 1675 GMT. I bought it about 5 years ago. I put it on my wrist and within a day it was losing 4-5 minutes per day. I took it back to the dealer who told me it had JUST been serviced but he would get it looked at. It came back and I was told th...
