can i just add #99 to the mix

Aug 07, 2009,14:18 PM

with the steel mesh i've added it does sort of provide lots of places for germs to hide which defeats the whole object of the watch, but what the heck, i like it.

this great watch has had such a boost in the last few days so anyone who hasnt bought one should do so now then we can contact Al(1440) with a view to him doing a PPro Archer watch.

best

Graham

PuristSPro All Black Rescue Watch Review

 By: patrick_y : August 4th, 2009-12:34
Doctor Ignaz Semmelweis and Florence Nightingale were pioneers who insisted upon basic sanitary conditions and introduced hygiene standards for hospitals. Today, the entire concept of sterilization, disinfecting, and cleanliness protocols are largely attr...

that I will enjoy reading a review of a watch I have so much. After looking at it for days and days I nevertheless genuinely find many thing to admire in your review And how marvelous idea it is to review our "club" piece All the best Damian

Great review, Patrick!

PuristS as ultimate testers....

 By: MTF : August 4th, 2009-20:21
Patrick, Thanks for the write-up of our "club watch". There are still some available for new club members. Just a background note about the development and future models. St Gallen took a risk in working with PuristS because we are so damned (can I say th...

Excellent review of a very "special" watch!...

 By: tempusfugit : August 5th, 2009-05:03
One question...the movement is automatic (presumably, since you indicate rotor winding in both directions)? PuristSPro certainly "hit a home run" with this one. The idea that there is more to come is worrisome--will need more storage space!! tempusfugit

Excellent analysis …

Thanks Patrick, I really enjoyed that review. It was a bit like reading a critique of a concert you attended or a record you own – you want to know if the reviewer agrees with your thoughts and observations. It is interesting to compare the PPro side-by-s...

Life is in the details, it's not about the bricks that build our walls, it's about the mortar that hold those bricks together; since it is the mortar that determines the strength of a wall. Thank you for the kind words Andrew. No corner cutting for Purist...

You don't need a purist to appreciate this watch.

 By: ling5hk : August 5th, 2009-15:41
My cousin (who is not a purist, nor a collector and to him, a watch should not cost more than USD300) saw me wearing a PPro ABR, he was impressed and immediately asked me to order one for him. He is now a very happy and proud owner. Ironically and strange...

Nice review Patrick!

Enjoy the flow of your review. An old pic (not posted before) for you , a shot of with 2 reflective patterns of the carbon fibre dial. I have a feeling to balance the helicopter-rotor-hands could be a challenge especially when Superluminova powders were a...

A great photo!

 By: patrick_y : August 6th, 2009-01:46
Thank you for the kind words and for sharing your very special photo. The robot charm in the photo is particularly charming. The quality of the photo is very good, my photos were unfortunately unable to capture the weave and full depth of the carbon fiber...

I highly enjoyed reading your substantial review of this watch; the more so, since I am currently in medical treatment in a sanatorium (nothing serious, it is more preventive than actual cure) and use the ABR many times per day. The ease of use of the pul...

Green Zone …

 By: AndrewD : August 6th, 2009-15:01
Dear Marcus, Sorry to hear you are off your feet for a while. Hope you can stay in those green safe zones and you are up and about again shortly. A good watch is a nice way to pass the time. Regards Andrew

Thanks, Andrew! Green zone is not enough for me now ....

 By: Marcus Hanke : August 7th, 2009-01:30
... since my stay here is less for cure, but more for prevention of more serious problems. I spend a lot of time with physical exercises. Sicne the green zones on the ABR reflect the normals values in a non-agitated status, my values have to be higher ......

Thanks, Patrick, nicely done. Graham, just a quick note...

thanks, all is well, and in one piece. I've been having some problems with email, so wanted you to know above, will email more when I get a reliable connection. Cheers, TM

Thanks, Graham ....

Patrick, as the owner of #48, I concur with your review! The ABR is a wonderfully different watch and is very comfortable to wear. I did replace my strap with a leather one ordered from St. Gallen. The cost was very reasonable and I am very pleased with t...

PPABR & Leather straps

 By: isquires : August 7th, 2009-09:34
I love my PPABR . I have a very large wrist and find that the ST Gallen leather bands are very beautiful and comfy. I want to caution everyone who uses the leather straps to be sure to tighten the attaching bar nuts.. I lost one and have not been able to ...

Thanks for the advice!

 By: patrick_y : August 7th, 2009-11:39
If you secured the bar nut with blue loctite, would you be able to get it off?

Blue vs Red..

 By: DRMW : August 7th, 2009-11:50
Patrick, FYI, Blue Loctite is removable but Red is permanent (but if you heat it enough it can come off). Also both bottles of Loctite are red but the fluid itself is either blue or red. Not sure of the generic stuff. -MW

Enlightened, thanks DRMW! [nt]

I really enjoyed your write-up of the PPro ABR. You point out some great features of the watch, and it was nice to learn a bit more about its construction and unique aspects. Thanks so much for an informative read! Cheers, Daos

It was definitely a fairly different watch than what I am normally accustomed to.

Where can I find one of these?

 By: Joshua Gravel : November 28th, 2016-12:39
I have decided to pick up a St. Gallen Rescue for use in emergency medicine. I really like the mods n the PuristSPro model, though I realize there were only 168 produced. If anyone nows where I can find one, or knows anyone interested in selling one, plea...

I will double check to see if they're still available.

With less than 200 made, it's quite possible that they're sold out. Will let you know either way.

Nice job, Patrick!
