What is a Watch?
Somerthing which just gives you the Time?
Then, no need to get a Watch, your cell phone gives it for free.
If you want more than the time, the Tissot T Touch is cool.
If you really want to have the time, only, then a normal Swatch is ok, for more than the third of the Apple.
Now, if for you, a Watch is an expression of your personality, and if you are on fine objects, then " luxury watches " are for you. An Apple Watch cannot compete with any of the fine AP, VC, Patek, JLC, and so on.
Remember the Quartz Era, when it was said that everybody was running after a " red digit number " shaped as a computer.... There were some people, countries which resisted, and thanks to them, keep mechanical watches alive.
Like a Logan... There are people who own / like / love the Logan, and others who only swear by Ferrari, Aston, Porsche, Audi and so on...
There is a market for everybody.
I see Apple watches as a competitor of watches Under what? 500 to 1000 Euros?
As for vintage watches, they have something which modern don't have, including Apple watches.... Soul. History, and sometimes too, Charm.
And, very often for much less than modern watches....
Life is good, my friend. And seriously, I would be VERY happy to see everybody wanting an Apple Watch. And selling for nothing their mechanical tresures.. To me!
Best,
Nicolas
