Thanks Mike. The Notos is a conceptual grande complication...

When I saw the Notos at WPHH earlier this year, I wrote the following about it: "The Notos displays declination, “the angular distance between a star and the celestial equator on the horary circle of the star”... I have no idea what declination is, or why anyone would want it displayed on a watch. Not surprisingly, this is the only wristwatch in the world that displays declination. The Notos is a conceptual grande complication - it displays something so complex no one really understands it."

I look forward to the interview.

This past weekend Royal Jewelers invited collectors and enthusiasts to visit German watchmaker Martin Braun in Andover Massachusettes. It was Mr. Braun’s last stop in his Basel 2007 debut US tour which was very well received around the country. Royal Jewe...

Hi JiaXian, I believe in this case the declination displayed is the earth/sun declination which differs from 23+(north of equator) to 23-(south of equator) , if I'm not mistaken. I'm no expert in astronomical complications, but I believe it describes the ...

Hi, There is another watch made by another German, Marco Lang of Lang & Heyne in Dresden that shows the earth's declination in addition to a complete calendar. Having seen both watches, I think Marco's execution is more aesthetically pleasing to me, howev...

Thanks Tim, I think your description and the visual display

of Marco Lang's declination makes this complication understandable. Best, Mike

Interesting watches they are. We never have Martin Braun in Malaysia until recently. Will love to have a closer look at them when i have the time. Thanks for the report Michael. Regards
