Thomas Prescher and the Mysterious Automatic Double Axis Tourbillon (A brief encounter)
While I was admiring the masterpieces by the many independent makers at the AHCI section, I was approached by a very nice gentleman who turned out to be Thomas Prescher. He showed me a few of the most awe-inducing pieces.
The triple Axis Tourbillon - it is mesmerizing to see this thing turn!
I was intrigued by the rectangular piece in the center with a very unusual dial layout - in fact, most of the dial is transparent! It is the "Mysterious Automatic Double Axis Tourbillon", where Tourbillon is in the middle, the time is shown by the "rolling wheels" on the top, the movement is on the side of the case, and the rotating plate that displays the date on the bottom serves as the automatic rotor for the watch. Absolutely mind-boggling! This is the latest invention by Mr. Prescher. Starting at 239,500 Swiss Franc for the steel version.
This is the case and the "movement" for the this piece.
And of course, there's the famous Tempusvivendi collection.
A look at a Tempusvivendi example made for the Russian market.
Yours Truly,
