Actually, it's a brilliant design.

TM,
At one point many years ago I was captivated by the infamous Haha belt buckle. But not because it was all about the prestige of the big brand - actually, in my naïveté, I had no idea who made it when I first saw it. No, I was attracted to it because it's actually a damn smart design.
My belts at the time tended to get ratty after a year or two, because of the bending of the leather caused by pushing it through the buckle and the pin. The H belt, and similar designs, don't stress the leather strap in the same way. It's like the difference between a tang buckle and a deployant on a watch strap. Result? The belt looks better and lasts a lot longer. Plus, you can swap straps easily, and reversing it is a doddle for sad dudes like me who have watchstrap-belt-shoes-matching-itis.
I've since moved away from the H belt because it's pretty flashy and, let's face it, every Eurotrash douche out there is wearing it these days (and half of China has a fake one on top of that). What I'm having difficulty finding is something similar without the branding. Yes, I can get one that uses the same design principle from any of the other common-or-garden luxury brands, but just as I don't wanna scream the name of a major investment manager/courier company/Greek god around my waist, I don't feel the need to be Mr LV/F/G/C/P etc...especially as my name starts with E. I'm happy with good design but don't really feel the need to be a walking advertisement for someone else.
Nowadays I wear a less-recognisable model from that Honda shop. So, here's the challenge: where can I find an attractive and intelligently-designed but unbranded - or at least less-branded - belt?
Best
E.
