The manufacturers knows it very well.
Let's focus the attention to the high end brand: do you think they provide the same quality of 10, 20,30, 40 (etc) years ago? ( rhetorical question )
People simply ignore what they buy, they don't care too much because the brand is powerful. (seeking anglage desperately)
The same thoughts are fine for all the luxuries brands
From smartphones to supercars it's just a game, to show off who owns more.
The funniest thing is when you talk with a supposed-to-be purist.... the wealth is not in the wallet, but in the mind.
