Superb Collection which makes my accumulation of GS's look small

Nov 26, 2008,02:36 AM

i really like the look of that spring drive chrono and would be very interested in hearing an owners review of a spring drive, a model i've not ventured into.

i bought several vintage GS's in a short space of time this year, experienced them all and decided i preferred the Manual winds to the auto's so ended up keeping my favourites, the 5722 chronometer and 4522 hi beat and let the others go, some to good homes within the forum.

it amazes me how many posts there are on Grand seiko's and how many models some people own considering the fact that they are pretty much an unknown quantity in the western world. i only learnt about them a long time after joining the forum and have been nothing but impressed with every model i've seen. i cant say they are the best watches in the world, but for their price point they are IMHO the best built, best finished and most accurate in the world.

a true stealth watch as you've got to be in the know to know.

Graham

Thanks for the reply... if there is a translation, will be great. The escape wheel design looks like the L.U.C silicium escape-wheel.... perhaps GS is planning something soon...
