The hororlogical passion...
Aug 10, 2014,03:00 AM
I really don't know if I agree or disagree.....
1. This is a watch site - the knowledge & in sight is amazing.
2. Like most objects, this is one of passion - in actual hindsight, for many, who haven't caught the bug, its ridiculous.
3. But for those who have been affected by this madness, it's Munch & munch.....& actually Kadinsky is my favourite.
4. In my case, I've decided to buy a watch (good God, again ??) - I started with whacking my Dad's 1965 Constellation and his GMT, while he sensibly (?) switched to a Quartz - for him, pure time was of essence. Time is of matter for us too....
5. So for pure sure, I know, I have a couple & some - but having said that, I have an xxxx budget. Do I get a RO 39 or 41, do I get a VC Patrimony or Tradittonille or do I go with a Patek Nautilius/Aqua or Calatrava....I've actually spent many months, thankfully, zeroing my choice down....& yes my watch will talk on my wrist. & to me...
6. On another go, I've my Son from Berkeley down & I quite enjoy explaining to him 2 Hz & 3 Hz or Calibre xxxx or Calibre yyyy - God help him, he's bitten by the bug too...I wanted to buy him a Speedmaster to start his collection but he chose his Grandfather's Connie....
For me & dare I say so, the daily turns of the minutes & hours ( & for our French cyber friend, pardon), dates are actually events - stupid, ridiculous, madness et al but yes, definitely, a passion.
Do I buy a Ferrari or do I buy a Lamborghini or do I settle with a Kia (apologise to any passionate Kia fans) - I don't know, they appear to be built on perhaps different screws, but they sure has hell, run on the same Gas....
My two bits....
Cordially
